AGP-made II Announcements

CRS Ethiopia is seeking qualified candidates for the following listed positions for the anticipated agricultural Growth Program Agribusiness and Market Development II (AGP-made II), a five year USAID- founded feed the future program focused on using a value chain approach to strengthen he agriculture sector.

Position Title:-AGP II Gender Officer

Department:- CRS Ethiopia programs

Duty Station:-Bahir Dar, Mekelle, Awassa, and Addis Ababa

Employment type:-Full time position contingent upon external funding

Reports to:-AGP II Gender Advisor

Job Summary:-

The Gender officer will serve as the lead officer in identifying gender based constraints facing women and men in the targeted communities at the regional level and steering program activities to directly  address these issues. The GO will take primary responsibility to advocate for greater attention to gender perspectives, by providing the necessary technical support to gender perspectives, by providing the necessary technical support to gender integration throughout AGP II operational areas at the regional level. The GO will work closely with the Gender Advisor, Agri-business Advisor; as well as, other CRS staff, AGP II stakeholders, and Gender Working Group (GWG). The GO will collaborate closely with the implementing partners responsible for the value chain and Agri-business as well as the public and private sectors. The GO supports the Gender Advisor with gender mainstreaming, and analysis throughout the program period.

CRS is hiring for four(4) Gender Officer Positions located in regional offices:                

  • Bahir Dar (fluency in Amharic required)
  • Mekelle (fluency in Tigrinya required)
  • Awassa (fluency in Amharic required)
  • Addis Ababa (fluency in Oromiffa required)

Qualification requirements: 

  • Completion of Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Social or Natural sciences
  • 2 years of relevant work experience for Mastr’s Degree or 5 years for Bachelor’s Degree
  • Experience in Amhara, Oromia, SNNPR or Tigray is required
  • Demonstrated ability to successfully integrate gender into development programming
  • Experience working on USAID funded projects is preferred
  • Experience in designing and implementing gender responsive projects
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively independently and in groups
